Androgynous Daemon Prince of Slaanesh
|
Okay, first AoS Battlereport. I'm going to break it down by turn. The game only lasted two and a half turns before calling it. I played Hedonites, my opponent played Fyreslayers. He was actually my first opponent for AoS back when the game released and had no points (I summoned 9 daemon princes first turn, no joke). Game has come a LONG way since then. Anyway, the report. I'm not so hot w/ slayer names, but he had his warlord on a magmadroth, a slayer combat hero, a priest, a hero that tunneled and took a battleline with him, one other buff hero, vulkite berzerkers, hearthguard and more basic troops. I brought 2 Keepers, 2 basic units of Daemonettes, Syll'Eske, 2 Enrapturesses, 3 minimum units of Seekers, and one minimum unit of Hellstriders. I also had the Chronomatic Cogs and Wheels of Excrutiation endless spells. Gametype is two objectives, if anyone controls both from turn 3 on, they win.
Turn 1: my opponent finished deploying first, and gave me first turn to fish for a double turn (he said he doubted my ability for a turn one charge). I immediately cast Cogs (outside of his 30" dispel bubble), generated depravity points from my IEs, shot my general (+4M and fly cloak, run and charge command trait) and 3 units of seekers upfield, shot a few troops with the IEs, generated three more DPs, then charged into combat w/ 4 units for D6 (4) depravity points. I'm at 9 DPs at this point. Combat hits, I use my KoS to give his battleline unit ASL (2 units of seekers against these guys), my Keeper is locked with two of his heroes (one with a spear, the other a buffer). Keeper swings, wiffs with everything, he gets a round of combat with spear and does a couple wounds, then my Keeper fights again and kills the hero with spear. I'm now at 15 DP points. He kills most of my seekers, bringing two units down to a single model, one unit gets dropped to 3 but I roll a 1 for battleshock and get both dead models back. His turn
Turn 1.5: he brings up his tunneling models, charges into my daemonettes on objective, wipes out the rest of my seekers, charges his magmadroth into my second KoS (who does the ASL on the magmadroth and uses a command die to fight two), my general wipes the buffing model and his unit near that model becomes an unmoveable anvil on his objective). His slayer runs into Syll'Eske who also activates ASL and they beat on each other; Syll'Eske goes down 3 wounds. All the wounds so far have brought me to 33 DPs.
Turn 2: he gets a double turn, combats continue, his Magmadroth dies, my second Keeper (not general) dies, Syll'Eske kills his slayer hero. I'm up to 50+ DPs at this point
Turn 2.5: I cast the spell to gain more depravity (I get 4 more), cast the Wheels and chew up more battleline dwarves, IEs get 2 more, I summon a Keeper, summon a chariot, charge into the unit that wiped my daemonettes, run second unit of daemonettes onto objective on my side, wipe his priest out, use the chariot and new Keeper to kill his previously tunneled unit, and brought myself back to 27DPs.
Turn 3: I get a double turn now, kill everything he has left except the anvil unit, Syll'Eske dies to one of his units that gets to fight even if killed. All that's left for him is one unit, and I have the following original models left:
1 Keeper (general), 2 IEs, 1 unit of Daemonettes.
I SUMMONED the following with the 85 DPs I generated (and I forgot to gain more for charging w/ units!): 10 daemonettes, 1 Keeper, 3 chariots, 1 exalted chariot.
We called it before his 3rd turn because we both needed to head out, but he had only a single unit left that would die turn 4 without exception.
I ended the game with 1760 points on the table.
I apologized a few times while we had a laugh; we both new DPs were good, and I didn't run any power lists I posted with the new boat or seeker horde, but this book just feels rotten. I had no idea they were THIS good. 2 Keepers are a must, as are multiple other heroes. Having a Keeper that can fly, run and charge, and get a total of +9 to getting in combat (+6 to move, +3 charging) is beyond foul. I missed a few of my rules that were a hindrance to me, but had no negative effect on me this game.
Fyreslayers are a tough anvil to crack, but the Hedonite book is just foul. Play it, run heroes, go nuts. And play AGGRESSIVELY! If you hold back with Hedonites, you're gonna lose. And it'll probably be deserved too! If you get a chance at the first turn, take it! In all honesty, the double turn did nothing to hinder or aid either of us this game.
