Here is an alternate way of applying Citadel Colour Contrast to a model with a large surface like a tank. Alot of people had feelings on the previous way...

The video doesn't quite show it as well as it might in reality, but how was the shading and highlighting performing with the paint then dab method? Does it lose some of its flowing properties when you've dabbed the paint over or is removing the excess that way only really affecting the big open flat areas of the model.

Also it would have been great to see half the rhino done with a regular blue paint, just to help show the difference in performance that contrast paint gives with this method compared to regular layer paints with this method - since some of the variation in performance might be due to the paint and some might simply be the method itself.


That said its a very neat way to obliterate the brushstrokes and it could work well for both a living or machine subject. One could even use two or three colours and get a mottled colour effect (possibly great for something really alien like an Eldar or Tau vehicle)

That's an interesting idea. Definitely seems like it might work well for Death Guard tanks.
