So I love non-combat models that work as story elements for narrative campaign play. The concept behind Forge World's Valkyrie Sky Talon model rocks my world. But the only pictures I've seen of it actually carrying something are of it carrying the FW Elysian drop troop dune buggy thingy.

So if there's anyone familiar with the model, is it big enough to carry one of the GW terrain cargo containers? I want it to deposit some cargo containers full of purestrain genestealers onto a hive world.

Could it carry a ridgerunner? A chimera?

Has anyone experimented with rare earth magnets in the gripper pads?

Thanks in advance- probably not a very popular model for Dakka, cause I don't imagine it's competitive in tournament play, but if there are any other ubergeek campaigners like me out there, I'd love some intel.

Long ago there was a thread about the size of a tauros - which, as you pointed out, is what it's meant to carry.

It'd be too small to carry either a ridgerunner or a chimera.

I'm sure you could find or build a shipping container that'd fit well though.

The Sky Talon could carry a Munitorum Armoured Container, but you’d need to convert the clamps; the spacing between them is too narrow.

Thanks for the info. I'll work on two regular Valkyries as escort craft first to get a feel for whether or not I could just kitbash them into my own Sky Talon.

Not interested in trying to convert resin, and especially when the official FW version is more expensive. If I could use it out of the box to do what I wanted, it would be perfect.

So it looks like my FW non combat flyer will be an Arvus Lighter; perfect for bringing in regimental advisers or inquisitors as the campaign progresses.
