Apparently people who don't mind their opponent hacking/cheating. 640 and not a single loss? What sort of bs did OP have to pull to manage that?

I have no idea why certain people think anyone will be impressed with their 100/2/0 w/d/l rate.

All that says is that they're playing opponents that are way worse and they're not improving (or that it's a total fabrication).

Is it all against the AI on BB2 or something?

I have a 50% win record for a couple of my teams on FUMBBL and I'm pretty pleased with that!

Yeh the first post can only be pure nonsense. My win rate on TT is about 50%, which I'm happy with given how much better most of the other people in my league seem to be!

The OP lists total running and passing yardage; not something you can even measure in the tabletop game. is it a stat that the computer game tracks for you? Also, I don't know what all the numbers in parentheses mean; looks like something cut-and-pasted from somewhere else.

I have those stats on FUMBBL - I assume it does the same on BB2. It measures a square as a yard. So my Orc Blitzer with 166 rushing has moved 166 squares in total holding the ball.

If someone tracks that manually for their games on the table top that's ... dedicated would be one word.

Personally I'd count a square as 5 yards, otherwise the pitch is only 26 yards from end zone to end zone.

Well the OP mentions BB2 so I assume that's where the stats come from.

The data was obtained from Cyanide´s first try at Blood Bowl the video game. Most of the players have been trained in the following way:

1. Earn five XP with a player in his/her first game. Save the game at the end of the match. Reload the game, if he/she is awarded a MVP.
2. Earn a minimum of eleven XP in his/her second match. Save the game at the end of the match.
3. The player is awarded now two rolls for skills & stats. You need approx. 36 attempts to gain a S increase but you have two attempts to achieve your goal. So drink tea, have patience and keep rolling.

Note
You can only train your players in that way when your team is already VERY good. So you have to play at least a couple of seasons to pull this of.

Now let´s chat a bit about some of the legends on the roster of the Dungeon Keepers. All players are Legends, have S4 or more, Block, Tackle, Mighty Blow with the exception of three dudes (Blitzer and two Runners). In addition, five players have Dirtly Player. Let´s see now some stats & skills of the more interesting types. I will only post the stats & skills which define their roles to reduce redundancy along with their nicknames:

1. (Witch Elf): She-Hulk
S5/Juggernaut

2. (Witch Elf): The Veteran
Pro/Sure Feet
Special mention goes to this player which was with the team from the very beginning. Her career stats:

Matches: 625 from 634
MVP: 51
Td: 110
Pa: 28
Rec:90
IT:4
Dead:52
Cas: 526
KO:523
TC:162
Ta:44
YP:400
YR:2838
Inj. sustained: 46
KO sustained: 63
IT suffered: 1

3. (Blitzer): Bane
S5/Wrestle/Leap

5. (Blitzer): Mr. Hyde
Frenzy/Juggernaut/Dauntless

7. (Blitzer): Postman
M9/AG5/AV9/Sure Hands/Dodge

8. (Lineman): Brick
S5/AV9

12. (Blitzer): Stalker
M9/Shadowing

The data is a bit dated because the team is already in the 46th season but that´s not big of a deal tbh.

I would consider this dude a loon and start a petition to get a straight-jacket for him.
Though you are correct to attribute 5 yards to a square.

The number in brackets rates the position in comparison to all teams of the league. Also remember that BB features four or five divisions, if you set-up your league with the intent of having the maximum number of opposing teams available. So Dead X [1] would mean that your team killed the most number of opposing players during your team´s infamous career.

All against the poor AI. Only the the first season is difficult to play against the AI because it starts with a significant higher TR and that´s the reason why I suffered six draws against it. Also the AI NEVER suffers crippling injuries or death when the AI plays against another AI and attributes hilarious number of touchdowns, passes and interceptions during these dubious AI vs. AI matches. So in order to compete I reload the game whenever one of my players suffers any kind of crippling injury or death.

Save scumming and playing only against the poor AI? What's the point?

Like I said - your win/loss ratio just says that you're playing exclusively against much worse opponents and you confirmed that.

The aim of the game at this point is not to win anymore as a win is guaranteed. You play from this point on to cripple opposing teams and try to end the match as soon as possible due to the fact that the opposition cannot field any players because of injuries. . My favoured team in the league are the Red Faced Rocketeers. They have no ogres left and no money to buy another one due to spiralling expenses.
Anyway, keep on hating if it makes you feel better.

Why not play against more challenging opponents and actually improve?

There is nothing to improve. I have played approx. over 300 games against humans on the boardgame and over a 1000 matches against the AI. I also participated ten years ago in a league (boardgame). Anyway, I hoped to learn in this thread of some interesting teams from Cyanide´s video game but apparently such folk is not present here on dakka.

*blinks* And here I was, thinking Dark Souls forums was where self-important smugness lived. That'll learn me!

I am sorry to hear that this.person has had such a difficult life that they must resort to cheating to derive enjoyment from a game. And then needing to post the results and challenge others to post theirs. Not to mention their need to e sure the opponent suffers the maximum damage possible.

I suppose I could fabricate a record for a team and it would be as equally valid a record.

I reckon there is a very good reason (and I am speaking from a place of experience, here) that OP does not play against humans, anymore.

If you need to cheat to derive enjoyment from something, that is all fine and dandy; if you do it in a closed environment where no others are affected, that is. Bragging about the results of your cheating, though?

(Then again, am I just here to put them down? Do I need to post? Is there a lesson we can all take away from this fiasco?)

I think some people are being a bit OTT here.
The OP simply posted some numbers of him playing VS ai in bloodbowl. Whilst I agree its not a particularly amazing achievement as the ai is hardly Stockfish and you can save/reload as you like, its hardly worthy of a rant is it?

What would be the difference in posting in the video game section that you've completed street fighter 2 on lvl8 with all perfects or that youve ironmanned xcom2 with no losses?

I'm sure I still have some team sheets from 3rd edition Blood Bowl, but they're not nearly as impressive as the OP's. More deaths in my teams, I bet, but that's because I don't restart whenever my Blitzer dies.

Finishing xcom2 with no loses when you reload anytime you lose someone would be a closer comparison. Ironmanning it with no loses is actually an achievement.

I also still have several team sheets from the 90s. Back in those days you also had the freedom to hire trainers (rules were either in WD or Spike magazine) for the different skill groups in order to obtain skills WITHOUT earning XP. Roadblocks to form an Uber team in that time period were rather harsh random event cards (Random events, Dirty Plays & Magic Items) that could be either played against your team or even a specific player halting their rise to greatness. I still remember the card PEAKED that once played on an athlete would stop him/her from ever gaining any XPs. In that case you would retire him/her and he/she would become one of your assistant coaches.
The best boardgame (e.g. in vivo and not in silico) team of mine was also a Dark Elf team. Taking a look at them now, one player distinguished himself from the rest. Let´s take a look at his career stats:

Team: Darkside Cowboys

Name: Autavic "Orc Butcher" Hellebron

Nr. 7

Position: Lineman

Infamous for: Being a Dirty Player

Comp: 2

Td: 2

Int: 1

Cas: 96

MVP: 3

I can already imagine some of the folks online gnashing their teeth at his career stats and crying FOUL! Nope, it was all legal because in the good old days the injury table worked in a more unforgiving way. Whenever the modified result of the roll on the injury table came up as a twelve or more, the player scored a kill. And when you used a Dirty Player, the Undertaker´s business thrived. Why? Well, the skill modified BOTH the armour & injury roll when making a foul by +2! Let that think in. +2!
So in his 3rd match against the Gouged Eye, he finally earned his nickname Orc Butcher as he killed in total six orcs via very unsportsmanlike conduct on the pitch.

I watched that, and then followed several links to Bill Burr videos. They were much better.

I realize I don’t need to enter this thread, nor should I feed the bear, but here I am. Because this is spectacle. There is something genuinely disturbing about your performance, like nails on a chalkboard, via post.

I have played 10000 games, won 10000 games and killed 50000 players. I have also played for 10000 years. There is nothing more for me in this game to learn, I know everything and can never lose.

Is this interesting to you?

1. You are bringing nothing to the table.

2. You haven´t played 10000 games. How about you troll some kids in your neighborhood instead?
