So this is just quick put together with whatever models I have ready and painted. Its not super serious or anything, but since i havent played KT much I dont know if theres any really obvious mistakes etc.
Im not using any expansions so no commanders or elites or anything.

If I were you, I'd focus on a roster not a list. As a new player to KT (as you posted), it is easy to forget that KT is based on rosters, not list. You only need to select your list when the mission and your opponents faction have been identified. This is huge, from a tactical perspective, and you should definitely take full advantage of it.

A second note is that whether or not you play with Elites, your opponents can even in core missions. Elites is not an additional game, it is extra units that anyone can take for vanilla or Arena (unlike Commander which needs to be agreed upon by both sides). This includes the use of reserves (except in Arena where they are prohibited). I'd just keep that in mind.

Kravi is right, that a roster will give you more options and result in a Team better tailored to your opponent, but
1. you have to start somewhere
2. most people have a core Team and use the roster to finetune it
3. the roster is often used as a bag to draw different teams out for different situations, not to ponder over every single model all over again.
So using a list as a start point makes sense.

Civilized players usually agree about the rules they use before the game. So it might be „Elite, but no models with keyword COMMANDER“. Just agree not to use Elite.
Anyway, as long as you play 100 points, you really don‘t have to worry about Elite too much - except GK which profit most in this kind of game, but at this stage this will most likely not influence your Team composition.

About the list
It‘s a good starting point - and not all Plasma
I would replace the Heavy Specialism of the Melter with a Sniper Specialism.
You will have to spend a CP to get a +1 to Hit, but you will get it always, not only when the model advances.
You might consider to give the Specialism to one of the Plasmas instead, but this depends on your style of play.
If I calculated correctly your list is 96 points. So you could replace a Special Guard Gunner with a Scion Gunner. Which would be preferable.
Also replacing one of the Plasmas with a Hot Volley Gun will be helpfull against many opponents. Making him Sniper or Demo makes him even more valuable.

It's worth noting that commanders can only be used in missions that permit them and most of those require you to take a commander.
