You officially make me sick. Seriously dude how to you get such great detail? Even my finest brush can't get the tiny paint scratches like you can.

If I had to sum up what I like most about all your work is that it never looks like a miniature. Each piece of yours that I've seen looks like a full-scale 7' tall model ready to burst into life. Genuinely amazing work!

For the scratches, I use a Winsor & Newton Series 7 MINIATURE Size 0 brush. The Miniature version has shorter bristles – it's almost like using a pen. And then it's just a case of using the very tip, and a light touch. Also the colour is important. I start with the same colour I used to make the lightest airbrush highlight, so there isn't too much contrast. Most of the marks are made with this colour, and only a few made with the lighter colours that I use for the edge highlights.
