So hello all.
I will post a proper introduction soon i promise!

For now though i would like to know if the chaos raptors were ever available in resin form.
I bought some on ebay recently and i didn't realise the listing mention resin and im concerned they are just dodgy knock offs.

So basically, are they real or are they fake and how can i tell?

Thanks!

Can you share some photos of them?

They are most likely one of three things if they are resin:
1) They are Forgeworld models - FW being a wing of GW that makes models out of resin. They don't appear to ahve any now (had a quick glance) but might have made them in the past.

2) They might be legitimate 3rd party models - ergo not knock offs just new designs that hold similar themes. Could be any one of a number of companies that made them.

3) They are finecast resin which is what GW used for a time as a metal replacement material before their more recent shift to nearly all plastic. However I've no idea if those models were ever done in finecast.

Pictures would likely resolve the question since we could then see what they look like and determine their most likely source.

It's very unlikely any company would remake plastic models in resin. You do get knock offs but they tend to be of already resin models made by FW. The knock offs can be just as good or worse in terms of overall quality of material and quality of miniature (detailing etc...). So unless it has very soft details or obvious issues its very hard to tell fake from real.

Funny you should mention the metal ones as i do infact have some.
I was hoping the ebay listing had just confused 'resin' with the actual metal but is seems i must have been mistaken.

I have attached pictured and as you can see they apear to be direct copies of the metal ones which i know are the real thing.
