Tabletop firm Warlord Games seals US deal - with New York store set to open this year

Nottingham tabletop gaming firm Warlord Games is set to launch retail stores and studios along the east coast of the USA after agreeing a partnership with entertainment group Mythicos Studios.

The co-branded venues, named Warlord Mythicos Studios, will be designed to support the full array of games within the sector, including board games, collectible card games, role-playing and tabletop.

Mythicos' current studio in New Jersey will be re-branded as part of the "long-term relationship" between the two firms, with the first new branch set to open in New York in October this year.

The partnership will also include the co-development and manufacturing of new Mythicos games and expansions to current offerings from Warlord Games, which is headquartered in Lenton and has the BBC license to create Dr Who miniatures.

John Stallard, CEO and founder of Warlord Games, believes the new partnership will change the face of the hobby industry.

He said: "Everyone at Warlord Games is thrilled to partner with Mythicos Studios. Our companies share a dedication to our gaming communities. We seek to provide gamers of all types with the very best venues in which to enjoy their favorite aspects of the games they love.”

Mr Stallard's thoughts on the partnership were echoed by Mythicos' chairman and founder Nelson Martinez, who said it "will help Mythicos Studios expand our model of focusing on the gamers and the games they are so passionate about".

He added: "Our studios are not just places to shop, these are places where gamers will find the very best gaming conditions possible and all of the products and services any gamer (newbie or expert) will ever need to ensure he or she gets as much out of their hobby as possible."

Warlord Games was launched 11 years ago by a team made redundant from Warhammer creator Games Workshop.

Today, it creates and distributes its products around the world, with popular games including Dr Who: Exterminate! and fantasy series Beyond the Gates of Antares.

Moving forward, both companies are now aiming to establish Warlord Mythicos Studios in every major US metropolitan area, as well as a global presence for the brand.

Well that should be interesting and I hope it works out well for them.

Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis
