I'm putting together a Chaos Airwing detachment for my Steel Brethren consisting of two Hell Talon Bombers and a Storm Eagle Transport Gunship. I already have the Storm Eagle, but am thinking I would like to convert a model for the Hell Talons. I love the look of the Forge World models, but I'd prefer not to break my wallet open for tough to work with resin, and don't feel like the Hell Talon aesthetic really matches the blockier design of the Storm Eagle.

Does anyone have any ideas for converting kits? I like the idea of using something like a Snow Speeder or Tie Striker as a base model, but am also worried that the Star Wars designs are just too iconic even when converted.

Also wondering if anyone has scale suggestions. The Hell Talon is absolutely massive for a fighter, and has a larger wingspan than a Bane Blade.
