Subject: [2000] - Craftworlds - competitive - looking for C&C
I am currently looking for advice regarding my list.
Right now I am usually playing in a group among friends with Orks, Knights, Tau and Necrons. But due to timing issues I mostly play against Orks.
Anyhow, I want to build a List that is somewhat flexible and not tailored to any of them.
In General the list has 2 Battalions and 1 Outrider detachment = 14 CP
14 CP: I have played lists with 10 CP in the past and was often feeling like I missed some.
1. Battalion detachment
- Ulthwe: Simply for the amazing stratagems, the Warlord trait and a more durable screen.
- Footseer: More for backfield support than allout offensive: Guide, Fortune, stratagems "forewarned" and "seer council"
- Footwarlock: "seer council", defensive use of conceal/reveal, might change to protect/jinx against orks
- Footseer vs Eldrad: Went for Footseer simply due to lacking points. Will work more on my side of the table.
- Storm Guardians: Cheapest bodies we have available to fill out the board and screen for characters and backfield units.
2. Battalion detachment
- Alaitoc: Best go-to in my opinion
- Ranger: to pressure advancing characters, usually not for deepstriking
- Dire Avengers: Concession due to points
- Bikeseer: Will work anywhere models are removed, Doom+Executioner
- Bikewarlock: Protect/Jinx to ensure stuff dies.
- Fireprisms: 2 for using "linked fire" stratagem for long range firesupport pressure on high toughness models, no CTM due to points (again) and rerolls available with "linked fire"
- Flyers: Additional pressure on high toughness models, starcannons due to points and target flexibility, probably not for move blocking to not lose -2 to hit protection.
3. Outrider detachment
- Saim-Hann: Stratagem for the shining spears, ensuring their charge will go off and to make every shot fired by the scatterbikes count. Usually they don't get too many 2nd chances.
- Autarch Skyrunner: for giving rerolls to other bikes and counter charging deepstrikers, novalance of saim-hann just because I can
- Shining spears: counter charge for deepstrikers or deepstriking on their own for turn 3/4 pressure
- Scatterbikes: to get as many shots on a somewhat save distance to kill troups and light elite
In the recent past I had some trouble to find a stable list that I liked and to find success with, especially against the Ork player.
Currently I don't own every model of that list but I wanted to get some opinions on this first. I would need more bikes, a few more guardians and the flyers.
There is no doubt that it is not all about the list but I am hoping for some different perspectives, opinions and feedback on my choices and composition.
I am open to suggestions in any direction.
If you are still there and reading: Thank you very much!
Best regards and thanks in advance.

Really different from anything I've used. I understand your selection of storm guardians as a way to fill a second battalion with cheap troops, and the avengers as a final selection. But I have to wonder... What do these hope to accomplish? Have you had luck with them in past games? Without even having serpents to ride in, these look like they're just asking to be shot to ribbons before ever accomplishing anything. Lots of CP is nice, but only if you have a plan for it. It looks to me like you're paying a massive tax with 5 HQs and 6 troops - is it worth it?
Can't give a whole lot of extra advice. Since you are running Ulthwe and running two Farseers, I'd definitely consider dropping one and pick up Eldrad. One farseer is essentially mandatory but two seems overkill. I'd try to work in a 3rd prism for redundancy and max out the spears to a full unit. Truthfully, the 309 points spent on the first unit looks like it would be better invested into the 'missing' prism and spears, imho.

All I would say if you are running ulthwe Eldrad is a must take hes an absolute weapon!
Hes so much better than a normal seer for only 20 points extra..
The point of the storm guardians is to soak up the fire/psychic that would otherwise be directed at the killy units and make CP. They are supposed to be bad and hopefully be shot at first turn.
It doesn't matter if they die. If you run Eldrad up the board and wrap him up with those storm guardians people will want to get at him to stop the mortal wound output and thus not shoot at your tougher/more killy bikes. You can always peel off a unit and run it towards and objective to make an enemy split their fire and react. Chaff is chaff... Might as well make it cheap chaff.

It is indeed the case that I plan to use the storm guardians just for screening and denying area against flyer or deepstriker.
Also I tend to burn CPs like mad lately and the two battalions are my way to fund this habit.
In-between fire and fade, unparalleled mastery, linked fire and the occasional lightning fast reactions I found myself easily burning 6-8 CP on the first two turns. Not including things like CP-reroll or phantasm.
Comments with your approaches and experience are highly welcome.
Regarding Eldrad: I have used him on several occasions to great success already. I guess I could reduce by one bike to get points for him. On the other hand I can spam seer council and unparalleled mastery to get them to Eldrad-like levels and boosting the WLs all along (they have been unreliable for me in clutch situations)
P.S. I really should fit Eldrad in there...
Aside from the Eldrad / Storm Guardian issue I am particularly worried about having enough anti tank in this list.
But I failed so far on fitting in e.g. a third fire prism.
Cheers for your feedback again

You could possibly drop the biker farseer if you already will be running Eldrad, maybe go foot lock or spirit seer to make the points and cut some of the scat bikes from the second squad to make room for 3rd prism.
You could pay 1 cp to give the footlock/spirit seer the falochus wing relic to make him a bit more mobile so that he can apply his buffs where needed.
