Need some help here. I've heard a variety of varying opinions on what's good in the codex and what I should be taking. I've had trouble with MUST TAKE units but from what I can tell, the Disco and maulerfiends are a must. Other than that I've heard a bunch going back and forth between Marines or cultists, havocs or no havocs etc. Any and all inout as well as units I should be including would be greatly appreciated !!!!

First off welcome to Chaos.

Also, your second detachment is illegal, you miss one heavy support.

Secondly, nothing against a thunder hammer but it needs delivery, a footslogging Lord is a waste for it therefore seek the points for a jumppack. Or get rid off the Hammer and give him a combi weapon.

For 6 more points you'd get a defiler instead of the venomcrawler which is overall a better choice. Not to say the venomcrawlers can't work but I'd consider both.

Mark the csm for Slaanesh for oppurtunity slaaneshy double shooting.

Consider going full daemonengines with more then 1 Lord discordants. Redundancy is key for them to work.

I have also been tinkering with a demon engine heavy list. I have not tested anything but from what I read having multiple discordants might be the key to their survival. My initial list was a bare bones base of 3 csm troops and the meat of the offensive being 2 lord discordants and 2 blood slaughterer of khorne and 1 defiler. It is super melee focussed and just focussed on possibly getting a first turn charge off and just going crazy in fight phase. Having multiple high threat engines makes target priority a headache for opponents. I initially had black legion as the legion trait but after a fellow member advised me to take red corsairs, I think it is much better.

I have since revamped my list to look like the below to allow a little bit of range firepower while still keeping the threats high. I'm still tinkering a little due to having spare points, if anything, I will just change to allow each CSM squad to take 1 autocannon dude which will tally it up to 993.
