Hey everyone, here's another battle report from the ongoing 40k campaign I've been involved in, featuring my Drukhari vs the Adeptus Mechanicus in the Ambush scenario. Hope you enjoy it!

Brilliant report, was really drawn in. Helps that I finally just read Brother of the Snake, which has some unexpectedly legit Dark Eldar stuff in it

Hmm, admittedly you do have me curious now. I may have to give it a read.

Yeah very nicely written batrep
Ambush is a very hard mission for defender, especially admech as they lack the relative speed to cover the distance needed before being bogged down :(

It was much better than I expected, but chalk that up to Abnett being good at what he does. Huge fan of the OG Greek Epic style he built his marines around as well.

Invigorated by BotS, I immediately went looking for any of Abnett's novels I may have missed, and lo, my copy of The Unremembered Empire arrived earlier in the week. I've already read most all of his other stuff, being a long-time Gaunt / Eisenhorn fan, and I think I've got copies of his other HH stuff. Interesting to see he did a spinoff with Bequin, may have to check that out next.
