Whats the quality like on the plastic minis included in Catalyst's starter boxes ("Beginners Box" and "A Game of Armored Combat")? Hard to tell from youtube videos but they seem a little...cheap? Soft detail and plenty of mold seams to clean up? "Preassembled" is rarely a good thing in my book.

I'm a bit of a quality nut. I find for example the WizKids Deep Cuts figures to be horrible (they arnt even plastic, but vinyl which makes them a paint to fix). Just wondering if I'm be disappointed with these mechs.

I think they're pretty good. Softer plastic than you get with GW/Warlord Games, but good detail. Definitely a few spots and lines to clean up, but nothing that's a deal breaker. They take paint and primer well, and the design is pretty true to the line art style you see in a lot of the TRO's/other artwork.

Like weasel_beef said, they are worth getting if you like mecha of that style.

Well, I'd love to be able to buy one, but alas...

Nice find Ghaz. Thanks!

Does acetone based glue (like Tamiya extra thin) works on them? That would tell us if they are thermo plastic or other.

They're all one piece.

You'd have to saw them apart if you want to customize or repose.

They seem about right for board game pieces.

Pretty good for plastics in my opinion. But if you want them for painting you might be a bit disappointed by the minor mold lines and pits.
