Looking to get my white scars painted this week and am going to be using apothecary white to get a nice, clean white. I’d like to see some examples of it over wraith bone though as I’d like to be able to compare what it looks like over the two bases as I’m tempted to go for a warmer white, similar to FWs white scars scheme. I’ve seen the comparison picture from warhammer fest however it’s not really close enough to form a proper opinion.

I can say this from my experimenting this weekend that the Contrast apothecary white is super grey instead of white lol.

Same. Apothecary white isn't.

It also doesn't agree with wraithbone. Over grey seer it meshes with the base color to produce a pretty solid light grey (though not very distinguishable from grey seer on a flat surface), but the blue/grey pigments contrast rather badly with wraithbone, and it becomes a muddle of blue/grey with light bone areas bleeding through.

About the only use for it I can see it using it to shade, then going over it with a real white paint as a 'highlight' on most surfaces. Its one of the worst Contrast colors.

I dunno. This is Wraithbone with Apothecary White over the white areas. Slight grey mottling over the white areas - only noticeable if you look super close. Contrast paints aren't going to produce super clean results regardless of what you do - clean paint jobs require more work than just slapping on one coat.

You might have to wait a day or two but I think I have brush on wraithbone and I know I have apothecary white. I’m testing it on something to see if I can fix my Deathwing.

You actually don’t want to paint models white, you want them to be off white and then use something like white scar to highlight them white. Colors like Ulthuan gray look white when surrounded by darker colors and having recesses shaded.

I'm at the same point in the process with White Scars and I think I've decided on Rustoleum Painters Touch 2x Paint and Primer. I only compared it to Corax, not wanting to commit to an army's worth of yet another overpriced GW spray, so I can't report on grey seer or wraithbone. But there's pics in my P&M blog if you want, and I'll stay tuned to see what you choose.
