I was looking through the new Chaos space marines codex I bought recently and I noticed theses weird black bands that go across the pages. They are semi-transparent so if you look hard enough you can still read what's underneath. Anyone know what they are?

That honestly looks like a printing failure?

A Mostly Renegades and Heretics blog.
GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units."
Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"
Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.

It's a magnetic strip that detects when an unauthorised user is reading heretical material.

Yeah, when i read the small novel that is the Death Guard unit options and think about resolving the attacks from a melee-oriented min size death guard squad, the thing that springs to mind is "Accessible!"

You're not. If you're worried about your opponent using 'fake' rules, you're having fun the wrong way. This hobby isn't about rules. It's about buying Citadel miniatures.

Please report to your nearest GW store for attitude readjustment. Take your wallet.

it's a printing error, take it back and get a replacement.

Yeah, it's a print error. Not as bad as some of the DnD books but still an error. You'll be able to get a refund no problem.

One thing GW is very good for is refunds and trade ins. I took a landraider crusader kit that had been basicly collecting dust in my room for 2 years before I started to assmble it and realized it was missing a part (had 2 left sides instead of a elft and right side) and got a trade in no problem at my local GW

Can chirp in on GW being fantastic at refunds. I bought a fail cast (Necron Lord I was building + Painting for a friend), I forgot about it for 2 months, opened it and realized how badly casted it was. Traded in without a receipt for a new one, we're all happy.

yeah in my case my return was a two year old opened box, taken no questioned asked. that's INSANELY good.
there's something to be said for GW running their own stores. there's no way you'd have a return policy like this without that

GW has always had top notch customer service. It's a case of Broken Clock is still right twice a day, imo.
