Does anyone play this?
Probably the greatest RTS of all time. It’s very cheap to buy on steam. Then download the Forged Alliance Forever client for free and start playing. It has a very steep learning curve but the scale of battles is incredible

I don't agree that it's anywhere near the greatest RTS of all time, but it is great fun. There's something primordially satisfying about the experimentals. I also really like the battleships and the naval combat in general.

I think it's definitely in the top ten real-time strategy games of all time.
Just... not its sequel. Its sequel was merely a passable RTS game, a well-put-together one at best, but it compromised too much of what made the original unique.

The sequel is in my top 10 "oh God WHY?!" category alongside fellow RTS Command and Conquer 4; not necessarily bad RTS's, but a complete catastrophe in the context of their brand names. Ironic considering CnC 3 and SupCom were fierce rivals and both really solid games.

I never even played the sequel. I have it somewhere, but I read the manual first to look at all the units, and realised Squenix had apparently injected unchecked amounts of random silliness into the game for no reason, like turning the entire Aeon army into an actual joke.
The manual was put back and the game box shoved somewhere in disgust.

One of the finest RTS games ever made.
Great game. Theres a great mod to add large space ships, extra Legandry uints and so. Also ventrnaxy upgraded for level 1-2 shops and -1-3 land units etc.
Very solid mod add on.
I got given those games. It's old, can get a tad buggy and so but for its age performs very well.

yep still play all the Sup Com games if they ever do another 40k strategy game then it should really be based on Sup Com
