The talk of the new Battletech box set in the Rumours forum inspired me to dig out my old models and photograph them.

Firstly, a few of the 'Mechs amongst some residential and light industrial buildings:

All those buildings were sold by Ral Partha at one point under the BattleTech brand. IIRC they're shaped to fit onto hex mats relatively easily.

Next, all the painted miniatures. I've decided to group them by inspiration (they're all Unseen. Bar the Scorpion, they were all found as plastic miniatures in the 3rd edition BattleTech starter box, although these are all the metal models).

As well as these, I also have the Wasp, Stinger and Phoenix Hawk LAM miniatures and a Marauder 2 (which is identical to the ordinary Marauder but with a pair of small wings attached to the rear of the torso) still unpainted. The colour scheme is deliberately non-faction-specific, and is inspired by the upholstery of the seats of Strathclyde Passenger Transport's trains about 20 years ago.

I did also have the Project Phoenix versions of these, but I can't find them. I think I sold them all off a few years ago.

Holy crap...that's some Star League era gak. I'm amazed you got paint to stick to that old glossy grey plastic!

I’m amazed the guns are still there. Most of mine are in a small pile next to the mechs.

Nice work on some old heavy metal.

I did have to glue the guns back on to the Scorpion, and the Thunderbolt's left arm is only held on by the pin I added many years ago. The Wasp, Stinger, Archer, Wolverine and Crusader are one-piece models and the Battlemaster, Warhammer and Rifleman only require the arms to be glued on.

The Shadow Hawk is the worst offender, with that huge shoulder-mounted autocannon that sticks out.

I did once consider re-doing the stats for all of those using the Maximum Tech rules to better fit the miniatures (removing the head from the Marauder and Locust, adding a secondary cockpit to the Scorpion, giving the Stinger, Griffin and Battlemaster hand-held weapons, that sort of thing), but my days of actually playing BattleTech were waning by that point.
