Am I missing something here?

In 40k relic units must have a non relic unit from the same foc. I can’t find this anywhere in the apocalypse rules? Can I really take a detachment of 3 Leviathans?

As far as I can see, yes, you can do that. Relic units don't have any restrictions outside of the global ones in Apocalypse.

Necron player is confused, what are Relic units???

Forgeworld has relic units, like the relic leviathan dreadnought, relic sicaran battle tank, relic contemptor dreadnought, etc. They have a special rule that no detachment can have more relic units than non relic units of the same battlefield rule, in 40k.

Oh, so special Imperial stuff, right.

It's not like Necrons, the oldest race around, should have "relics".

The relic rules is a bad thing to have, you don't want it!

Not to mention that everything in a Necron army is a relic anyway :p
