Will prices drop of these collectables soon?

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Rogue-Trader-Exo-Saturnine-Terminator-Conversion-Lot-Of-3-Warhammer-40k/283533191649?hash=item4203e529e1:g:rasAAOSwL8ZdAa4f&frcectupt=true

People are starting to make copies of the rare models terminators, and my collection that I had for a while looks like it will drop in price if more duplicates models start to come out.

So should I sell my collection now before everyone can recreate them?

If it is provable that yours is original, it should hold value.

But ultimately it's it's impossible to say for sure. The value will to an extent track the popularity of the game, so judging when the peak will be is very difficult.

How long is a piece of string is my stock answer to price threads.
They will be worth what people value them to be.

Best consult the animal entrails. That'll give an accurate projection of the future.

Thanks for the advice all, hate to say it but since it getting easier to duplicate I guess it is time to sell all my models. It a shame really but 3d printers will also get better especially with metal 3d printer coming out, I can’t really say it going to be easy to sell as I love them.

I assume the eBay listing was from a recaster? If that's your listing, good luck - no one buys from someone with an 86% reputation, lol.

I've got bad news for you. People have been copying these (and many many other early GW models) for a few decades now.

Why sell them if you love them?

It's not like these things are going to pay for your retirement.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!

As someone who regularly scours ebay for old models (mostly out of curiosity, but sometimes to buy), prices are all over the place. There are lots of sellers who appear to put older models up for very high prices and just wait it out for someone to buy them. But if you're patient you can find a better deal from someone who actively looking to sell.

The value something has on ebay, even for older models, still fluctuates depending on what's "hot" in the game as well, just to complicate things. For a while, Dark Reapers sold at a premium, for example. But after they went up in price and the rule of three was introduced, they dropped in value again.

Yeah I've been watching some armies and some models go around and around for years at insanely high prices and no one buys them. However when that one person with a big army just wants taht 1 model to finish it they might well be tempted to part with more cash than is sane.

Those ebay stores basically prey on that market segment as well as the hope that all the cheaper stock dries up leaving them with the only ones on the market; which then sets a trend for the prices on those models.
If buyers can't see any others and don't see them for a long while then the high priced ones become more attractive as time passes.

There are also popular ones, the last edition of metal demonettes and seeker riders sell for insane amounts because they are a very popular sculpt. Even GW doing a 1 week reprint run didn't really affect their secondhand price. They are still desired in large numbers and still limited in supply so their prices easily hit more than £10 a model at times. Yes you can get deals (and I'm kicking myself that I missed a set of seekers that were misslisted as fiends); but by and large the days for super deals on ebay are long gone - its too popular and you are competing with way more customers than 20 years ago (or so).

But yeah why sell? If you purely want to sell for profit and no other reason then eh I'd say now is as good a time as any. Prices could keep going up or might come crashing down or might remain all over the place - which is typical when there's a few high priced ones that never sell and then people who actually want to sell them pricing way lower to actually get rid of models.

That said metals keep their value pretty much and will generally only go upward over time until they hit a rough cap that the market will pay for. In theory if inflation keeps going and GW's prices continue to rise then the numerical value will likely climb, though that will be along with everything else so the relative value might not actually increase.
