Toying with some Chaos Knights options and looking for C&C. This would be for ITC style competitive games.

Super Heavy Detachment - Iconoclast
Chaos Knight Despoiler - 2xAvenger Gatling Cannons, 2xHeavy Flamers, Heavy Stubber, Titanic Feet. Character, WARLORD - Trait - Infernal Quest. Relic - Helm of Warpsight.
Chaos Knight Despoiler - 2xThermal Cannons, Heavy Stubber, Titanic Feet. Character. Relic - Khornate Target
Chaos Knight Despoiler - 2xThermal Cannons, Heavy Stubber, Titanic Feet. Character. Relic - The Quicksilver Throne of Slanesh

Super Heavy Auxilliary Detachment
Mortarion - Miasma, Curse of the Leper, Blades of Putrefaction

Patrol Detachment - Nurgle
Sorcerer on Palanquin of Nurgle, Force Stave. 2 of the following:
1. Warptime - makes Mortarion more of a threat and forces my opponent to ignore the knights and to some extent the Nurglings while the Sorcerer is alive
2. Prescience - against Imperium, makes Mortarions CC attacks explode on 5s, makes him even more of a beast
3. Death Hex - for all the Thermal cannons
2 units of 3 Nurglings

In ITC format the plan is very simple, hold at least 1 per turn and kill more each turn. With the end goal being to table or nearly table my opponent.

The relics on the Thermal Knights will encourage them to get closer, which will also make best use of their Meltas (half range...). A little bit of Death Hex and reroll hits will result in the Avengers clearings stubborn units that shield (would be very useful against Plaguebearers and the like).

Morty is a distraction, and will likely be cleared first turn or 2, but allows my knights to move and shoot for those turns. I know most (if not all) will advise losing him for a full batallion But I just love Morty and singlehandedly he can change a game so much

By my reckoning I am left with 6 CP after the extra relics (which I may not take in favour of deepstriking the Nurglings, not sure yet).

Thanks all

If you trim (or have left) 3 points, you can swap out that last detachment for 3x 10 brimstones, a warpsmith and a sorcerer all mark of tzeentch. That's 5 extra cp and lots more bodies for sitting on back objectives and you can cast all 3 powers for 1 cp.
Love the knights and morty combination but knights are sooo co hungry it's unreal if you can fit a battalion in you're onto a winner.

Can find extra points quite easily, either by dropping the Avengers down to Thermal Cannons or taking Avenger and Battle Cannon (saves 7 points), in which case I would probably switch to Internal for S9 battle cannon with extra damage.

Interestingly if you take 3 bare bones Despoilers and Mortarion then there is enough space for Magnus...

Are Nurglings not more resilient that horrors? Maybe a small nurgle battalion would be called for?

Yeah the smash bros with 3 knights would be a daft list but if you get first turn would be really hard to recover from getting morty warptimed into you, a knight 1st turn charge with Magnus and the other knights following turn 2.

Depends on what wepons get shot at your nurglings they're generally much better at small arms fire but worse against multiple damage weapons. 9 nurglings, nurgle sorcerer and poxbringer wouldn't be a bad shout.

I am looking over all the options in the Daemon and Deathguard books for bodies on the ground.

What are your thoughts on the following (I have narrowed down as best as I can what I would prefer to play):

Poxwalkers - already have 200 (painted as well) of these and love the fact that they are fearless. Would not have Obsec if I mix these in a Nurgle Detachment over a pure daemon one

Brimstone Horrors - so cheap (though not to buy, I might try putting nurglings on 25mm bases, should work ok). They look like they will disappear very quickly. But would be a pure tax for cp for the knights.

Nurglings - already have 12 bases of these, cool deployment rule and pesky to remove from the table.

Of course plaguebearers are now an option for me having looked more into them, but I would also need to buy a Bilepiper to make them work better so that would be nearly 300 points for a troop choice so I reckon I would only be able to justify 1 unit in a batallion, question is if I do that, then what could the other troop choices be? Assuming I automatically take a Poxbringer

Thanks
