Is there a good place to use for gauging the worth of something before I sell it/swap it?

For instance, I have an old Lehman Russ model, still in box, nothing missing except the plastic, and I had a guy offer me $20 for it. That sounded very low, so I am asking here. Where can I go to get a chart or accurate list with the worth of unassembled models or bits I don't need. All my bits off my Guard squads, and bits off my SM/DW sprus.

I am not aware of any master bits/model pricing list.

I would suggest hitting up ebay and seeing what others are charging for what you are selling.

If you are looking to get rid of bits, maybe see if your FLGS has a bits bin swap of any kind. You donate your unneeded bits and take bits you need from what they have.

As for the Lemun Russ, $20 is very low for a NIB model. I would suggest closer to 30-35. Retail is 55 and you aren't gonna get that.

$20 is a bit low. I got rid of a couple already built ones a few months back (going with a non gw model for leman russes so no need for the non matching gw ones) unpainted but primed I listed at $40 each and sold em for $70 for the pair

Purely supply and demand. Check second hand sites like ebay to get a better gauge of what it's worth. Remember to check for "completed/sold listings" as well as current listing.

Check ebay for sold listings and if its parts try googling for "bits stores" and see what they charge; then factor in your gut and a sense of sanity.

Checking sale prices on ebay can give an inflated appearance of value as sometimes the only stock left are the high priced; which is why you have to check the sold tab.
Meanwhile bits stores are in it to make money and might overcharge on some parts. They also tend to assume most only want a few bits, if you add up the totals for a lot of bits from the same kit you quickly get to way more than the kit is worth. This can be evident with things like cavalry units where the price of mounts alone can come close too if not exceed the price of a new box.

The proper way is to check eBay and set the filter to 'sold listings'. That shows you the items that actually sold, rather than what people would like to charge for the bits/ kits

You could look at bits sellers online, I only know the UK ones but then do you really want to separate and catalogue each bit and price it. You'll not sell all of the bits that way.

I do a lot of ebay purchasing and the way I look at it is what can I get the model for through an online discounter including P&P. Thats what you'll sell it for max on Ebay unless they are in crazy demand and sold out.
Russ's are not really in demand so for me I would only buy a russ for £24 including P&P

If you've got something new in box that is current, they tend to go for about 10- 20% off market price, and ebay takes an additional 10%.

So if you're doing one to one sale, a 80% of GW price is more than fair in my book.

If its not new, but its unpainted, you can ussually get around 50%. If its painted, and painted anything short of amazing, you'll probably get 30-40%.

That's been my experience selling things on ebay. If its an oop item all bets are off. It could go super high (I had a set of four battlefleet gothic cruisers still on sprue go for $70 once), or super low. No way to know really.

I mean, I might not sell it, but there is no real way to evaluate the cost of 12 flamers, 3 flags, a bunch of swords, and med packs, off a guard spru.

I'm afraid it's not even going to be remotely worth it to sell those parts. You might be able to sell them all for maybe $15 ish dollars AT BEST and then pay about $10-12 in associated fees.
