I started off my guard army back in 3rd/3.5 and quit when I went to college and when my local games store closed.

Pulled my old army out of storage and repainted it over about a month back in april to start playing 8th. (holy crap the story has gone off the rails since I was last playing circa 13th black crusade kickoff).

I love the new edition, though I find the lack of vehicle facing a bit disappointing.
I've also noticed that armies nowadays all seem built around characters which is a bit of a change.

Finally, in the two games I've played since coming back, neither of my opponents have had painted armies... they just show up with all their models piled in a cardboard box. It's a bit frustrating, especially considering the huge number of paints and inks available that make it super easy to get a halfway decent end product.

Anyways, I'll post up my army in the painting and modeling showcase next.
