AOS thread.. where NinthMusketeer and I have basically been sounding board off each other for a couple pages. Casting a wider net here with you guys. Looking for feedback on the concept and execution thus far for this conversion.
Idea is a fallen king.. Once a proud herald of the plague god, as a symbol of stagnation and slow yet gradual degradation and erosion of his laws or order. Allured by excess of wealth, opulence, and gluttony has fallen so deeply delusional through a quest of vanity that he is a slave to the dark prince and his own lust for acceptance and fame. He became obsessed with reclaiming his once beautiful body, charm and good looks. Having found an artefact (mirror) that reflects his desired self image, he is driven now only to feed his delusion to eek out a meager existence and re-live his "glory days." . Just as Nurgle's own powers wax and wane in an unending cycle, this king's soul is in a state of back and forth in the hands the plague god and the dark prince of excess. Turning the mirror on his enemies, they are driven mad with reflections of their deepest darkest truths.
Open to comments and criticism on the concept, execution, and theme/lore!
For the model, I used the old Greasus Goldtooth ogre king model. ( standard model shown below for reference). With turkey leg in one hand, and mace in the other, and a dead sexy body with that bloated, corpulent, stagnant nurgle aesthetic, but also gluttonous and excessive opulence of Slaanesh. His knoblars usually haul around his treasure.. but in this case I had him lounging in it like Scrooge McDuck. I used the "Dragons Horde" piles of gold from Terrain Crate. I used the mirror from the Blaood Wrack shrine from Daughters of Khaine. And the whole thing is being ferried by the OLD OLD nurglings. I am going to fix the palanquin's lean toward the front, build up the sides to make sort of like a box instead of a flat plank, and add another layer to make it appear a bit more dense/ thicker to support his girth and wealth! Getting the mirror free hand painted by a VERY talented friend of mine to have a beautiful blonde prince in the reflection.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Update: Commissioned the freehand work for the reflection because I just didnt want to feth it up. My friend is truly an artist.
