So I was looking into getting some custom resin bases for my Tallarn Roughriders to match the desert bases of my Tallarn infantry. From what I have read, the Roughriders would have a base size of 35x60mm. The only issue is that the closest matching size that the manufacturer makes is 30x65mm. My question is would this be a significant enough difference to matter for rules purposes or something I shouldn't worry about?

General rule of thumb is larger than standard is ok, smaller than standard is not ok. Either way, larger or smaller both come with their own sets of pros and cons.

However, it's a good practice to always discuss with opponents.

I don’t think anyone will notice a 5mm difference. And it’s not as if you can an advantage, so there isn’t anything you are “hiding.” You are 100% good to get those bases on IMO.

Rough Riders were originally, like all bikes and cavalry, on rectangular 25mm x 50mm bases. (really more like 27mm x 50mm weirdly)

Not really a big deal unless you plan on attending tournaments or are obviously basing for advantage. I don't base any of my 40K stuff properly. I base it on stuff that it fits on. But...I don't attend tournaments, etc.
