So, I've updated BattleScribe, and upon looking at the Space Marines HQ list, Marneus Calgar has two options:

1. Marneus Calgar in Artificer Armor (235)
2. Marneus Calgar in Armor of Heraclus (200)

So my point of this post is: Why is Marneus Calgar in Artificer Armor 35 points more than him in the Armor of Heraclus? Is this a mistake on BattleScribe?

He’s a legacy option from the Index that they never bothered to update with FAQs etc. They don’t care that the old version is worse in every way (besides being able to ride in a rhino). While it was nice of them to include rules for old stuff, expecting them to keep maintaining it was a little too much to ask. And frankly, I don’t blame them.

Pass the torch, bro-fist the new guy, move on.

I have.

they did a nice job with the new calgar calling back to the original mini though.

The old pose is actually much better/more natural...the new one is some kind of awkward dance move. While the minis technically nice, they ended up with one of the more awkward marine models.

Imo that old metal model is a phenomenal sculpt by master Goodwin. The detail on it is super clean.

yeah the biggest flaw is the white Ultra symbols, but those are clearly a case of "painting white is hard" not problems with the mini itself

Lol I was just going to post the same thing. I didn’t like the new sculpt befor, but now that I see the inspiration, it looks even worse! My goodness they’ve missed the mark with him and Gman. So ugly.

To answer your question, the small Calgar is an Index option, no longer in the codex, and no longer being updated.

What about his ugly anti lock (brake system) armour?

Is that just a forget it was made

It is only 'better' if you ignore the fact that only big belt/pteruges mask the fact that his rib cage starts right above his pelvis. Oh, and shoulder joints, especially enclosed in armour, simply do not work that way. The big one might look like a 'dance move', whatever that means, but at least it's physically and anatomically possible move...

...and it looks like ass? What's your point? Space Marine power armour has never actually worked. Been that way for years.

I really don't think the pose on either model is particularly good.

Armor of Heraclus is Primaris Gravis Marneus from the Vigilus expansion - notice the Movement, Toughness, Wounds and Attacks.
Armor of Antilochus is Terminator Marneus from the Codex - Note the Movement, Teleport Strike, Terminator Keyword and Relic Blade
There's yet a third Marneus which is Artificier Armor Marneus from the Index, and history. - Note Movement, Relic Blade, and the missing halve all damage.

Heraclus Marneus is the least mobile overall, but not the slowest- he can't teleport, drop pod, otherwise deepstrike, and can only ride in (Non-Forgeworld) Repulsors - but he's also the most durable with the best stats.
Antilochus Marneus is almost as durable, and can deepstrike, ride in far more transports - flyers and Land Raiders for battlefield movement and has a Relic Blade he'll never use unless his STR is reduced to 1.
Artificier Marneus is the least durable, but has the most transport options by adding Drop Pods, Rhinos, and Razorbacks. Which is unlikely to matter. And still has a Relic Blade he's never going to use.

So most of the points difference can be chalked up to the fact that they're making Primaris better for cheaper to nudge players into Primaris. Part of it can be chalked up to campaign book with power creep. And Part of it can be chalked up to some allowance for their synergy capacity with the rest of the army i.e. in this case who they can thumb a ride from.
