I have the Primaris half of Shadowspear, and some Intercessors/Reivers I used for Kill Team, so thought I'd try and expand these into another army for 40k (I have Chaos and Xenos so Imperium seems the next logical step!). I'm going with Blood Ravens as I love their colour scheme, and their mysterious background... I know their chapter tactic isn't amazing but looking mainly for a fun list which is fairly balanced (without buying too much extra stuff at this stage). Broad plan is for the heavy stuff to provide firepower supported by the Captain, the Librarian to sneak upfield with the Infiltrators and the Vanguard and Reivers to drop in where needed (hopefully near the Librarian to take advantage of Null Zone).

Appreciate any feedback on gaps, mistakes etc. Just to say that I know stalker bolt rifles aren't as good but those are already made so can't change them! On the Helblasters I've gone with the heavy option just so it gives them a bit more range (so they can hang back out of danger)… also the guns look better, but if this is a really bad decision it would be good to know

Hi good luck with your list.

I'm liking everything except the Vanguard veteran squad, as i'm wondering how they are getting around the battlefield

Without a transport they are quite vulnerable to mass weight of fire.

Razorback (5PL 98 pts) Twin Heavy Flamer

Vanguard have their Razorback, with the Heavy Flamer able to clear mass infantry before they disembark.
Techmarine goes with them in the transport to keep it alive.

Extra Reiver squad brought in to give more versatility.

Thanks for the feedback and the updated list

The vanguard vets were meant to have jump packs but must have forgot to tick the box on battlescribe!

With non primaris units it's best to have them in transports as only having one wound per marine means that they can be destroyed in one mediocre round of shooting if theyre on foot.

The only time having "normal" marines on foot works is en masse.

LC pred is really bad. Better get a contemptor mortis dread with twin LC, better in almost every way. Twin heavy flamer is not worth it. Way to expensive and very short range. Go with twin SB. VV with melee weapons are useless when you fail your charge (your chance of making it is only 28%). Give them ranged weapons, so they can at least shoot after deepstriking.

If he's taking a transport he doesn't need to deep strike. And they can't deep strike unless they have jump packs
