Hey guys, got a mini 1000pt tournament coming up on sunday with a couple of mates, they play: Death Guard, Orks, Ultramarines. I have been toying with some list ideas but cannot get something I am happy with. Had a test run with a death company themed list but didnt really do well, so started opting for a Sang guard type list, but cannot figrue out what to fill the remainder of the points with, so far I have:

Basically the Guard, Sanguinor, Ancient and PRiest cruise along together, the Captain lands somewhere and charges something in turn 2. The 3 troops are on objectives/firing support. Ideally something to fill a third elite slot so I can take a Vanguard detachment would be ideal, but I cannot figure out what I should run here, thoughts?

More SG with PF and PP only. The sword is more expensive than the PF, which is ridiculous. The ancient should be your warlord, allowing SG to re-roll all failed hit rolls, enabling you to safely overcharge plasma. If you want another vanguard detachment you could add two (JP) company vets, they are the cheapest elite choice. Another point efficient choice are scout bikers with a SB on the sarge. They have 16 boltgun shots at 12", plus 6 shotgun shots. Also T5, W2 and 16" move, 9 melee attacking with red thirst, for 71 pts.

Given the sanguinor is the warlord and running with the sang guard surely that would have the same affect as making the banner guy my warlord?

Also, I dont own any more SG models at the moment, going to get another box whenever I can.

Yes, same effect. If you have two buffing units for SG (ancient and sanguinor) you have two chances of making the 9" charge. With one model its all or nothing.
