Just a quick one. I've bought a box of Cataphractii terminators and had a bit of an epiphany about them. My question is, can you mix the terminator parts from Deathwing and Cataphractii terminators without a lot of green stuff and extras?
I basically want to get robed torso's, and almost everything else cataphractii. I would use green stuff for robes but I just think the Deathwing have some really nice Dark Angel's details that I want to include.

Thought I'd ask here rather than spend £35 to find out.

Just from my quick glance over the sprues on the GW site, it doesn't look like much of them is compatible. You might be able to put the Deathwing arms on the Cataphractii suits, but you'd lose the tassels and they might look a bit off. Most of the DA details in the kit look like they're molded specifically for the regular terminator armor, so they're unlikely to sit properly on the Cataphractii armor without a lot of green stuff.

That said, I did find a bunch of conversions on google when I was looking it up, so it's highly possible that I'm missing something and it's easier than it looks.

Tonight I can dig out my HH plastics and my languishing box of unassembled Deathwing to give you an idea.

The Cataphractii shoulders sit weird on their torsos and I didn't realize at first they actually had an intentional gap so I tried to squeeze it shut. IIRC the mating surface is different between the terminator bodies but it's not too far off, you'll be shaving one side and probably pinning the other while your plastic glue dries.

The bodies, especially the legs, may take trimming on the back side of the robe lie down flat. I know you're avoiding greenstuff but it may actually be easier and quicker to just greenstuff simple, flat strips to form robes over the cataphractii bodies.

I made some of these, they look a bit gorilla arms but it was hard matching the two sets together, I reckon I did okay though
