I keep finding contradictory information on whether or not you can get rerolls when firing Overwatch.

My initial understanding was that you could not get your rerolls from abilities such as a captain granting rerolls of ones during Overwatch. Then, I believe a recent FAQ changed some wording so you did get those sorts of rerolls in Overwatch; however, I thought this was then changed back so you could no longer get the rerolls. Now, I have again seen people getting all of their rerolls in Overwatch when watching battle reports online.

Can anyone please clarify whether or not you get rerolls in Overwatch, or if at what points you do get the reolls and when you don't? Thank you!

If the rule says it only works in the Shooting Phase, it cannot work with Overwatch (as that happens in the Charge phase). If it simply says it re-rolls hits, or re-rolls ranged weapon hits, then it works in Overwatch.

Example:

Tech-priest Dominus - Lord of the Machine Cult: You can re-roll hit rolls of 1 in the Shooting phase for friendly <FORGE WORLD> units within 6".

This doesn't work in Overwatch.

Abaddon the Despoiler - Lord of the Black Legion: You can re-roll hit rolls for friendly BLACK LEGION units while they are within 6" of Abaddon the Despoiler.

This works in Overwatch.
