Just got the new SM codex today and I have chosen the successor chapter tactics for my Doom Legion and have created a fluff reason for these tactics and I am wonder what are the fluffy reasons for the tactics you have chosen for your successor chapter.

I have chosen: Bolter Fusillades and Scions of the Forge

For thousands of years the Doom Legion have kept a lonely vigil of the Elusian Maze asteroid fields and have over the years adapted their combat doctrines to the long periods of isolation that the warriors of the chapter often have to endure. It is not uncommon for single squads to venture out into the asteroid fields with little to no support and as such have learned to utilize their basic bolter weapons to there maximum efficiency, even without the direction of their commanding officers. It is also not uncommon for the vehicles of the chapter to be in the field for months or even years at a time and as such the is little chance for repairs. Because of this the chapters Tech-Marines have built the chapters many vehicles to last, allowing them to operate at peak efficiency for much longer then others.

I’m still waiting for my new codex, but I’ve read all the previews I’ve found online so I’m pretty decided on my successor tactics.

My chapter is an Ultima founding chapter, the Night Ravens. Cawl insists that they are Raven Guard successors, and since their first campaign have demonstrated a preference for covert operations which makes sense as Raven Guard successors, however since their founding they have been developing their own style and tactics and have demonstrated an unexpected aptitude to psychological warfare. Their favoured tactics now are to strike from behind enemy lines with a combination of surgical strikes and terror tactics, and tend to do as much damage to their enemy by the fear and disruption they sow as from the destruction and precision strikes.

Rumours that Cawl was lying when he claimed they are Raven Guard successors are entirely unproven. There is no reason to suspect that traitor geneseed was used during the Ultima founding.

Night Raven Chapter tactics:
- Stealthy
- Fearsome Aspect
