So, we've been playing a lot of 1k games recently and I'm struggling to find the sweet spot with my eldar, everything is just so expensive!

We play quite competitively and I generally seem to face a lot of armour, usual opponents would be knights, guard tanks, tau gunlines, wulfen + thunder wolves, plus primaris as well probably now.

So far I've got;

Alaitoc battalion

Farseer - faolchus wing, doom, guide, WL, Seer of shifting vector
Warlock skyrunner - jinx, protect

3x5 rangers

5 shadow spectres

2 prisms - CTM

Crimson hunter exarch - lances

I like the versatility of the prisms, with the 3 modes of fire, plus linked fire strat, but if I lose 1 early it really screws me over. I'm relying on minus to hit to protect me and feel like I'm lacking firepower.

If anyone has any advice for playing eldar at 1k, or alternate lists, that would great.

I did consider running a flyer wing instead of the prisms and spectres, and swapping a squad of rangers for a guardian blob, but think I prefer the list above.

Are you playing on a 4x4 table or a 6x4? Most 1k games I've played have been on a 4x4 and I've never found alaitoc to be that useful because of the reduced table space. It's really easy to get within 12'' and negate the -1 to hit. Rangers and fire prisms also suffer because they're a lot better at keeping the enemy at long range. I dont like telling someone to completely change their list but if you're having a lot of trouble I would consider bringing a guardian blob or fire avengers and switch out your fire prisms for serpents. I've never tried shadow spectres but I've heard they're over costed for what they do. I would consider getting some dark reapers, fire dragons, or shining spears which all have a much higher damage output

Well, the list is not bad. It obeys in some sense the Lanchester square law which particularly comes in in smaller pt games;
doubling the number of tanks requires to 4-fold the anti-tank weapons. This law has worked well in the 2nd WW.
However, Helvost's comment is very interesting paving another way.
My approach would be different: Biel-Tan with 3 Serpents and as much shuriken weapons I can get.

Lanchester's square law - please obey in list building!
