Greetings

I have a question about how Gotfret de Montbard from the new Blackstone fortress escalation expansion will work in an Astra militarum army in regards to his acts of faith ability.
If I take pure AM do I still get the 3 Faith points to use his ability or do I need to take a ministorum detachment to get access to the faith points?
Also what do you guys and gals think about him?

I think you should get the 3 Faith points in a pure AM detachment, like for "normal" crusaders. Not Ministorum detachment necessary.
I'm also thinking about including him, since he would fit nicely in my regiment fluff wise. On a competetive scale he seems to be quite competetive for his price tag. Even more so if he is accompanied by a Ministorum Priest for +1A and takes the Blade of Conquest (and I don't see why he should not be able to do so, since he is an AM character with a power sword and therefore matches all requirements.)

Sidenote to his usage: having the faction keywords Astra Militarum and Adeptus Ministorum he can be healed by Command Squad medpacks and Battlesister Hospitalers in the same turn.

One additional question I would have: If I include him into an AM detachment that is an Emperors Conclave, does he also get the Emperors Conclave Keyword? He has the "crusader" keyword, but I'm unsure if the list of units included in the emperors conclave refers to Crusaders in the sense of keywords or in the sense of the datasheet in the codex. Can anyone enlighten me?

You get 3 points for having even a single model with the rule, regardless of detachment. You don't even need to be battleforged.

As a named character they cannot take a relic.

In terms of capability he's got twice as many attacks and four times as many wounds as a crusader, but only costs more than two of them (plus his character status and bonus on 6s). though he gains less of a boost from faith than a whole squad would as he's just one guy.

On a competitive scale he, like the other crusaders, don't hold up to their arco flagellant counterparts (who in turn don't hold up to the really big hitting units, but are ok) and still lacks the bodyguard rule to do his job. But he could camp an objective and be a little awkward to shoot at without mortal wounds behind his character protection and shield.

Ahh... named character, I did not have this limitation in mind. A pitty, he would be really suited for the blade of conquest.

Edit: can he take a warlord trait?

Yes, as a character they'd qualify.

I thought named characters couldn't choose one?

They can't choose a different one if they have a trait already.

And how about my question regarding the Emperors Conclave special detachments? Does Gotfret qualify for that?

He has the crusader keyword, so... possibly? He'd not technically on the list.

Gotfret has the "Crusader" keyword, which will allow him to benefit from the Emperor's Conclave.

As a character, he could even take its associated warlord trait.

I don’t see him in battlescribe. What role, faction can he play in?
