'Roll a D6 each time he loses his final wound, on a 3+ that wound is not lost.'

If I am on 1 wound and are hit by say a damage 3 weapon, do I roll once or three times?

You roll every time he would lose a wound, so if there's 3 damage you'd have to roll 3 times.

It isn't the case that when you lose your last wound the rest is discounted/wasted/ignored? Or am I confusing things with other games?

I know it is different to feel no pain as that is rolled per wound, not when you lose the last one, or is it in fact the same rule but more limited in application?

Multiple shots is straightforward - roll to survive each time.

Here though is it the case you lose a wound, roll, lose a wound, roll, lose a wound roll
OR
Lose three wounds, putting you zero or below, then roll to not lose your last wound and be on 1 again.

If you roll the 3+ you don't lose the wound, so you still have one wound and you're not throwing away the other damage. If you save the first time there's still 2 damage left to apply, so you have to make the roll for them too.

It actually works exactly the same as a feel no pain type safe, just with the added restriction that you only start using it when you would lose your last wound.

To confirm, if you are on 1 wound and take a hit that does 3 damage you will have to pass 3 rolls to survive. None of the damage is ignored, it all must be rolled for individually.
