Hi Guys,

I'm getting back into the hobby after about 15 years away. When my son was born 8 years ago I bought some Grey Knights with the intention of getting back into the hobby then parenthood happened and I prioritised work and family. Now he's older and wanting to start a Nid army and I find myself back in. I want to keep going with the knights over my other childhood armies but want it pure. I was going to go with a mixed force with NDK and SS but I love the Terminator models. I already own Draigo, 5 Interceptors, 5 paladins and a stormraven so the list is built with this in mind. Can you guys let me know what you think? A lot has changed so there's probably a fair bit I'm not taking into account. Apologies in advance for the layout, Battlescribe refuses to work on my computer but I've taken the point values from Battlescribe on my phone so should be accurate.

Total Points: 1966

Draigo 180pts
GOI, Sanctuary

Terminator Squad x 5 214pts
Justicar: falcions, GOI
1 x Terminator with Psycannon
3 x Terminators with falcions

Paladins x 10 503pts
Justicar- Daemon Hammer, Hammerhand
2 x Terminators with Halberds
7 x Terminators with falcions

Interceptors x 5 128pts
Justicar with Daemon Hammer, Sanctuary

Stormraven 291pts
Twin Lascannon, Twin Heavy Bolter, 2x Stormstrike Missile Launcher

I want this list to be fun and semi-competitive. I don't find NDK and Dreadnoughts particularly appealing just from a looks aesthetic. The general plan would be to keep Draigo, the paladins and some of the termies in reserve and bring them in at an opportune time to grab objectives with the terms and tear the throat from the enemy with Draigo and his paladins. The Interceptors can zip around drawing fire and units away from more important targets and if that fails they can either grab an objective at the last moment with their shunt or go deep and swing away at something to soften them up a bit.

What do you think? Please keep in my I haven't played in a very long time.

Well, my list looks a bit different.
I take a battalion with 2 GMNKs, 3x 5 Strikes and 5 Paladins, a vanguard with Techmarine and 3x Dreads, and an outrider with Techmarine and 3x 5 Interceptors.

This army gives you a perfect beta strike in round 2 with about 200 shoots (if everything goes well). For this, keep the GMNKs and the Strikes in reserve. The Paladins move into position with GoI and the Interceptors shunt. The Dreads give fire support (using astral aim) and get repaired by the TMs. The army up to the vanguard is in position in round 2 (12'' away from the enemy) and can shoot with storm bolters (4 taps) and apply smite all the way.

Thanks mate, I appreciate the feedback. I saw your list comments in a different thread and thought it looked quite competitive. I'm really wanting to use those terminators and a big blob of paladins though as I'm not really into the NDK model. Considering terminators get full bolter shots and an extra wound do you think the lack of power armour in my list is much of a hindrance?

I think it is quite important to bring all weapons to bear in the early part of the game.
My list is of this sort.
But when Termies need to foot-slog they might not reach the enemy anytime soon.
