Anyone know where I can get sphere magnets with a hole that goes either partially into them or the whole way through them?

The new Aeronautica Imperialis models come with those ball tipped flight stands GW do, and I'm thinking the best way to magnetise them, so it looks nice, is to chop off the ball and replace it with said type of sphere magnet, and then just bury a magnet in the body above the ball joint socket.

Stumped on finding said type of magnets though. I've drawn a blank on ebay, all I can find is general spherical magnets.

I can't see just gluing a sphere on top of the flight pole a) working well and b) looking very nice...

Any help/ideas on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Your best bet is not a magnet; just pin directly on top of the ball point, glue in the contact point on the ball point end, use a glue dot/strip or tack glue on the other end.

For my Eldar bikes which use the ball and socket set up I filed the top of the ball flat, glued a magnet on that, and then used GS to fix another magnet into the hole on the bike.

I really wanted to make it so it could swivel and pivot, but it just wasn’t happening.

GreenStuffWorld sells magnets aimed for flying stands but they do require you to glue the sphere on top of the plastic rod.

I am tempted to take this route, although I would replace the original flying stands with clear acrylic rod that does not have air bubbles on it.

That place is the harsh dark future far left with only war left.

Sphere magnets won't provide a good grip. It will roll off.
