That's a little disappointing. Like you, I wasn't planning to drop everything to restart 40K, but with all the hype I expected a lot more bang. Ah well, it's not like we don't have enough projects to keep up busy, right?

My Midlam Miniatures kickstarter package arrived. Excellent old school goodness at a very reasonable price. They're earmarked for skirmish games eventually running alongside my Arabs.

Painting wise a Daemon and a Shade have been added to the Bestiary both are Mantic from my Crazy box.

This will almost certainly be my last CAV for the challenge but definitely not the last CAV here as I've still some if this Kickstarter and another Kickstarter's worth to arrive. Equally I'm looking for another thing to enter for the challenge I'm considering two options.
Starships Finish off my CSN ships and the Merchantmen easily doable and I fancy painting something like this as opposed to fantasy all the time.
Zombicide:Black Plague I'm making constant slow progress with this but if I focus I should get it finished before the next pledge worths arrive and I'll need to focus some so it doesn't get lost with the arrival of Massive Darkness. Any preferences?

I'm also thinking on Green Horde. The original was a huge welcome dollop of fantasy archetypes into my collection this one will be less so and I think it's partly because it's gone far more high fantasy than the original. As I've mentioned before I'm a sucker for British low fantasy as opposed to modern high fantasy it's why I use a lot of historical figures the fantasy element is just my argument for using the figures I like rather than specific types and also as far as I'm concerned if a Samurai is going to fight an English Longbowman or a Greek Hoplite it's fantasy and I might as well get to use dragons as well.

I didn't know that Fireforge had released a new box of Scandinavians, so it looks like your post just cost me some dollars.

That looks like the DS Mantic Troll, which is objectively a lot nicer model than the KoW/Restic ones - which are the ones that got all the criticism in the past.

Cheers Azazelx yes it is and I can see what you mean about the difference between the 2 trolls. The Scandinavians are pretty much the same box as the Russians with a few more weapons but the same arms and bodies. The heads, shields, bows and quivers are different though.

Mate, you're smashing your way through the Zombicide stuff. I haven't even opened my Wave 2 stuff yet!

Ehhh well given how long the rebasing took......It also helps that I'm pretty settled at the moment, working close to home rather than staying away mid week hugely helps the painting time and makes my weekends more mellow. Also they seem to take paint well. This year I'm also undertaking the 365 challenge and I'm well on my way to that lofty goal. I also like finishing rank and file I'm not a big fan of painting but I enjoy completion which motivates me.

The Russian kit from Fireforge Games is excellent for generic none western armoured troops the Scandinavian kit gives less exotic options but has a better set of weaponry.

Cool stuff. I've picked up that kit myself but haven't done anything with it yet.

Another very nice, very eclectic set of models.

Cheers you two. The base bodies in the set Azazelx are excellent they can be pretty much used for anything so I have heavily armoured Arabs, Mongols and Cultists from it already.

My Massive Darkness order arrived I went fairly heavily in on it.


Some excellent models in their particularly happy with the Hellephant and the Amazon Cyclops. Unfortunately I'm doing weekend over time so expect my output to decline equally Reaper Bones IV is looking excellent and far cheaper to get my hands on in the UK.

Yep Zombicides artist boxes were great its a shame they didn't do as many for the Green Horde.

Went to Hereward this morning picked up a copy of Ulterior Motives for Frostgrave and Swordmaster for Open Combat as well as a bunch of bases and a few models.

Due to a lot of overtime at work I'm picking up the kickstarter reissue of Conan. Equally I've been losing gaming and painting time. Yesterday I also had a job interview for a far more lucrative job which would mean I'd actually be running archaeological sites so I'll hopefully be just waiting on references now.
