Hi all,

Here are the 1st 5 models i painted as a test for my upcoming Ultramarine Primaris army. Wasn't too sure how the lighter blue would turn out but i have to say i'm happy with the results but welcome any feedback anyone can offer.

Regards

Paul

A beautiful way to do your ultramarines.
Keep up the great work.

They. Look. Beautiful.

However, they look like they came out of a renaissance painting. Is that the effect that you were going for?

@Fayric

Thank you

@Ainz Sama

thanks, i wasn't intentionally going for that look, i did want a more muted, less dark look to them but no that you mention it they do look like a renaissance painting

I actually really love this tone of Ultramarine. Its airbrushed right? Could you possibly share how you did it? I really want to replicate this lighter tone for them but have never found a tutorial I like.

Thanks in advance if you're able to!

I also want to add that you need to clean up your mold lines, because I can see them everywhere and it breaks up the immersion that your models have created.

However, looking at those models. I've always wandered. If a space marine hits a rock that's embedded into the ground or a heavy enough rock. Does he kick it aside or trip up over it? XD

Nice colour you have there, The light blue brings out what ultramarines are supposed to be look like.

But I'm biased, I still paint mine enchanted blue

i actually followed the tutorial done by jack of Clubs on youtube (link below). His skill is much higher than mine and my ultramarines came out lighter than his do, but i'm still happy with the result

@Ainz Sama yeah you are right regarding the mould lines, a couple of these guys are the snap together intercessors and the mould lines are horrific. I have to admit i'm more a gamer than painter so i get lazy when it comes to removing them at times. Takes all my effort to drill the gun barrels out
