It looks like you could trim away the "arm" of the wing up to the elbow, while leaving on the webbing (ideally on both sides, but the small bit opposite the fingers will likely be a lost cause), and then slot that onto the backpack vents as a new "upper arm". There'll definitely be some greenstuff work involved, but I don't see why it couldn't work. While I haven't seen one done in person, the sizes don't look too far off from the pictures on GW's site.
I'd definitely cut pieces out slowly and do a bunch of test fits to see exactly how much you need to remove. It might look better to leave the last muscle group on the upper arm and slot that into the (freshly hollowed out) vent grills, for example, or it might turn out better to trim the webbing a bit and angle the wings back further along the vents.
