Graham McNeill has gone from being one of Black Library's most prolific authors to someone whose books are becoming somewhat of a rarity. Does anyone know the reason for this? I was mightily surprised to learn that McNeill wasn't going to be one of the final eight contributors to the closing series of the HH, the Seige of Terra, not to mention disappointed.

Any info on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

He's working for Riot Games (the people who make League of Legends) as a senior writer

Ah, OK. Thanks guys. Well, I must say I'm pretty gutted about this. He was one of my favourite authors, along with Dan Abnett and ADB. I've just realised that Josh Reynolds is probably one of my favourite authors as well, so he'll be McNeill's replacement.

Also, they must be paying him in gold bullion by the kilo because I can't see him making more money doing that than he made from being a full time novelist. Unless he's not doing it for the money.

Is this a decline or a rise for him?

League of Legends pumps out a crazy amount of adjacent lore. On top of their actual game lore they have two major alternate universe lores that get pretty in depth, including a Sailor Moon ripoff and a Cyberpunk themed one.

Writing licensed fiction has never paid particularly well, and GW tend to pay towards the low end for their talent. So no, it's entirely possible that a full-time job just about anywhere else would pay more than writing full-time for the Black Library...

It is a shame he's writing less now, I'd kinda like to see a follow up trilogy of Uriel Ventriss books, dealing with how good ole Captain Uriel Ventriss is handling the post gathering storm era.

I'd like to see that for a number of our classic marine saga's TBH

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two
