Hi all,

I'm thinking about starting a small project for my custom space marine army.

I want to have a unit of vets that are in robes, so I'm looking at the Dark Angels Veterans set as a starting point.

I'm thinking of using the chests and legs of the Dark Angels and then adding primaris sized arms, shoulders pads, weapons and heads (possibly hooded heads that are non-gw). But i'm not sure if the sizing will work?

Has anyone had any experience of mixing mini marine parts with primaris? I really want the robes but the only primaris sized robes I can think of is that Dark Angel lieutenant but i don't really want to buying a load of those - even the separate parts I need could be costly.

In advice/guidance would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

That should fit just fine. I've only done conversions the other way around with old bits on Primaris bodies. Old and Primaris arms are the same size in my experience. If there is any difference in size, I did not notice it. Shoulder pads and heads are explicitly interchangeable. GW advertised this from the start.

The biggest issue I've encountered with kitbashes like these is that old arms are posed so they may not fit the thicker Primaris chest piece very well. Since you're going the other way around, that shouldn't be a problem. In fact Primaris arms should fit the Dark Angels Veterans a little better than old Marine arms as the robes add a little bulk to the chest. I remember having some tight fits on my Fallen squad (all old parts).

Nehekhara lives! Sort of!
Why is the rum always gone?

Thanks that's great I'll probably pick up a couple of boxes of Dark Angel Vets when I have some funds. I might pick up that Dark Angel Primaris lieutenant and possibly use it as a sergeant
