Turn 1, after the roll to seize has been made, I can Master of Ambush the chaplain and Aggressors up to within 9 of the enemy deployment zone. The Centurions can go into deep-strike with 1 CP and Strike from the Shadows. The Vanguard Veterans and Shrike can spend another 2 CP to move+advance into the middle of the board with Infiltrators. I may include the jump pack librarian with that group if I need to turn off invulnerable saves or overwatch. The secondary chaplain can deploy himself close to the nearest heavy fire unit to give +1 to wound using Echos of the Ravenspire. Scouts, Infiltrators, and Eliminators give me decent board control starting turn 1.

I hope to pick off characters that grant buffs quickly with a combination of sniper scouts, Eliminators, and melee units. I should be able to get some decent first-turn charges and then use the 6' consolidate from Canticle of Hate to wrap a unit. The Infiltrators give me a decent bubble if I run into heavy deep-strike armies, and I can play the deep-strike game too if I face an army that I don't want to Alpha Strike.

I'm concerned that I may not have enough anti-tank. Primary units there are the Warlord Chaplain, Librarian, Vanguard Veterans, Centurions and Aggressors in melee. Shooting would just be Aggressors or Centurions with +1 to wound from chaplain.

You have the wrong chaplain is all.
The right chaplain is 196 points, has twin lazcannon on its arm mount, and still punches like any other melee dread.

I dont know what you might pull down to get it, but it would add a nice 2+ to hit punch with 2 lazcannon to your generic antitanking.

I've been including the chappy dread in my lists too. The option to teleport him while also providing untargetable anti tank and counter assault is solid.

On the list I think it's fairly solid. I would suggest losing the mc stormbolter and echo since it has a full turn delay. At least decide pregame.

On that note infiltrators is 1 unit only since its after the game has started unless I'm missing something here.

The VVs I'd recommend reducing to 3-5 hammers the rest chainswords and if pts are tight a couple dual chainswords to soak non ap damage.

Assault cents I haven't tried. It seems they will kickass off a deep strike but will be susceptible to being outrun after. I'll interested in their performance!

Anyway those changes if you make them should afford you pts for some dedicated anti tank which I agree you need.

Regarding elims while sometimes it doesn't matter I feel the 3rd sniper rifle is better than the instigator for RG.. and cheaper. It's not that often the weapon will come into play, but the 3rd sniper shot will more commonly.

Also feel you have too many scout snipers. They're good in this chapter but you will almost always want more sacrificial units so paying 10 pts more is a waste.

Its the old price for Kavan, they haven't updated yet. I'll need to change out one of the Librarian's powers for Shadowstep to get the Chaplain Dread where he needs to be. I'm worried about its 7 warp charge though. That combined with the 1-in-3 chance of the Chaplain failing to inspire makes that support iffy.

You don't feel like making the 12 shots from the Centurion Sergeant 2 damage each is worth a CP?

Didn't notice the Echo was delayed a turn, thanks for pointing that out.

Infiltrate is at the start of the battle round, before the first turn. It also has a note at the end that you can only use it once on each unit.

Generally, alpha strike is an option but not the best of all tactics these days.
RG suggests this, but I'd stay away from it.

Looks better. I'd still want a couple ablative storm shields in those vets personally. On infiltrators I wasn't thinking correctly last night lol too much wine.

As far as MC hurricanes its cool and maybe worth taking for 1 cp. I'd at least make the call depending on what your facing.

The chappy dread is super slow without shadowstep.. but at least hes got some value las. An alternative would be 3-4 dev cents with cml/grav. Moa/infiltrate/sfts as needed.
I plan moa as a lateral movement primarily, get out of range and sight with alpha strike as the fallback plan. Consider moa with infiltrators and you have high chance of avoiding much of their t1 damage.

Plus marines are cropping up more often now. My marine opponents are typically bringing 6+ scouts so one dice roll really effects what moa/infiltrators can do as a forward deploy.

Anyway overall its a cool list I think will give some good games.
