Hi,

Just a little noob question. I receive a charge for example to a unit of 3 broadsides (X = broadside ; O = charging unit):

X X X < O

The charging unit kills 2 broadsides and I remove the 2 broadsides in between the charging unit and the last broadside, so that there if after consolidation more than a inch between the assaulting unit and the last broadside:

X < O

Is the last broadside in combat? Could the last broadside shoot next turn?

no the Last broadside wouldn't be in combat and then able to shoot freely next turn.

Because you no longer have any enemy units within 1", the broadside can move and shoot freely, it does not need to fall back.
