Basic idea of Daemonettes, plagues, and tzaangors screen with psychic shenanigans. Tzaangors try to kill an important target T1 or just tie things up. Same for daemonettes. Cultists sit on objective somewhere pref out of LoS. Plagues get to a middle objective same as pinks footslogging up throwing fire at random chaffe. Rubrics deep strike to a mid or backline objective.

Thoughts on how you think it will perform against certain enemies? Things it will struggle against?

Thanks!

I'd rather have an Icon in the Plaguebearers than an Instrument. Their large-unit bonus is the best one and it's really worth prolonging as long as possible.

While the Pinks have good synergy with the TSons, they are going to be the least useful of the four troops--they'll be S3 without a Tzerald, and are really lack-luster without FlickerFlames.

Swap them for some Nurglings. Replace the Bloodmaster with a Khorne Axe DP. (The Crimson Crown, while cool sounding, doesn't actually do that much since it works on MODELS, not UNITS, iirc).

Also, for your friend: think about downgrading a DP to a Sorcerer with the same powers. ALL the buffs should be going onto one DP anyhow, so having two tempts you to split up the buffs.
Then take a Shaman so that Tzaangors become extra nasty!

Definitely overlooked the Crimson Crown being models.

Pinks are there basically because of the lack of other models to use in their place lol.

Definitely will explore the options you posted. At first the buffs were going to go on the tzaangors followed by the prince who was not the warlord.

The ITC formatted tournament was this past weekend. Missions 2, 4, 6 Wound up coming in 4th place. Which considering its the 2nd tournament we have played in 8th edition and his like 4th, 5th, and 6th game ever. Apparently the #2 player in the country / the #1 Tau player in the country was there too. Idk why lol

We ran the following

Ahriman on Disc, Death Hex, Doombolt (Maybe warptime instead), Prescience
Prince, wings, Warlord, High Magister, Dark Matter Crystal, Talons, Temporal Manip, Tzeentch's Firestorm
Prince, wings, Helm of the 3rd eye, Glamour of Tzeentch, Weaver of Fates

10 cultists, Autoguns
10 Rubrics, Tzeentches Firestorm, 7 boltguns, 1 warpflamer, Soulreaper cannon (Webway Portal)
30 Tzaangors, Brayhorn,

Friends list:

Chaos Undivided Battalion, 3 CP

Bloodmaster, Rage Incarnate, The Crimson Crown (Deepstrike)
Poxbringer, Miasma of Pestilence

30 Bloodletters, Icon, Instrument, Banner of Blood (Deepstrike)
20 Pinks, Icon
30 Plaguebearers, Icon, Instrument

Slaanesh Patrol Detatchment

Herald of Slaanesh, Pavane of Slaanesh (maybe hysterical frenzy)

29 Daemonettes, icon, instrument, Raptuous Standard

Game 1 was against Orks and Tyranids. Tzaangors got into his back line and killed some engineers, but ork boys did what they do best as well as a melee hive tyrant. It did alter their game plan, but we made a big boo boo. His Gorkonought or whatever its called made its way to the middle objective. Charged it with plaguebearers and that was a mistake. The bloodletters made their way into combat into their deployment zone and tied up / destroyed his battle wagon, but we should have charged and killed the gorkonought. That way the plagues could have held the objective and scored that over and over.

Game 2 was against Double custodes. They were running a fun fluff list. 3 dudes on bikes, two named characters, 2 units of the 3 man squads (idk the lapdog names) and a unit of 6 terminators. I made a huge mistake with the Tzaangors and attempted to fight one of the bike guys. I should have went after the landraider and attempted to surround it completely, keeping it tied up and eventually killing it and the 3 units inside of it since they couldnt fit outside of it. We performed really well either way that game and achieved a solid victory.

Game 3 was against Ultramarines and necrons. Those tanks with a chapter master have an obscene amount of shots. The necrons were forced into staying defensive and didnt do a whole lot that game. With some lucky psychic powers in the last turn, we were able to sneak out a very close victory against them.

Things that I learned: Daemonettes are eh in this list. They did soak up a shiiiiiit ton of fire, but they didnt make it into combat in any of the 3 games. Which meant that the Herald of Slaanesh wasnt that good either. It was another source of smite and did wind up killing a custode character before craoking but other than that not a whole lot.

Bloodletters destroyed anything they touched. The bloodmaster was okay to give the reroll aura, but other than that, he always failed his charge. 2nd game he finished off a custode with 2 wounds and held an objective in the 3rd game, so he was useful.

The pinks did pretty well. Didnt really overrun anything with their lesser shooting, but still plinked wounds here and there and soaked some shots.

The plagues were hardly targeted except for the first game. And that was more a problem I created.

Ahriman and the princes were hands down the MVPs of the tournament. The amount of damage they output both in the psychic and melee phase was insane.

Very pleased with the results. We went in just wanted to win one game since last tournament we went 0-3.
