I am looking to start a new army and it will be my first venture with Chaos forces. To be frank I do know nothing at all about them and need your help.

The models I like a lot are:

- Flamerdrones
- Death guard marines
- Brass scorpion
- Lord discordant
- Raptors
- Cultists

Would all of this fit in a one-faction armylist and how best to add to it?

You'd probably have to use the Nurgle &/or Heretic Astartes keywords in order to make it Battle-Forged.

I've re-written this post a few times but in short the answer is complicated and I think we need more form you to answer this properly. You've listed units for 2 factions across 3 books, which can all be used together in a chaos army, but not in 1 detachment.

How much guidance were you needing, do you want everything in 1 detachment or are you happy to have multiple little detachments, theme etc?

Death Guard marines, also known as plague marines are a normal elite choice force regular csm.


So you could have all of the above except the drones.

Brass scorpion is khorne only, and Lord discordant baseline csm.

Deathguard is nurgle only.

It seems to me that you have a tendency torwards daemonengines.

If you like the Lord Discordant so much Skeletor from MOTU would be a better fit for you and will save you also lot of bucks, too.

It was late/early when I responded & I missed the Scorpion.

If you want all that stuff in the same list you'll have to have multiple detachments & tie them together with the Heretic Astartes KW (unless the scorpion lacks that, then.... :()

and yeah you're best off running a CSM army, maybe black Legion?
