I was wondering if anyone knows if devestator bodies are similar size to tactical. I wanted to take the arms and grav cannon from one model in my tactical squad that I magnetized and place it on a devestator body that I am PLANNING on magnetizing. And ... and ... can a tactical model with just a bolt gun pass on the table as a devestator like would anybody realize it’s the wrong model or are they the same exact models except for the pose options ?

Thanks

No need to worry. All the "old" marine kits such as the tacitcal squad, devastator squad, sternguard and so on are 100% compatible with each other.

Ayuh. Literally EVERY oldMarine box is compatible with every other oldMarine box.

EDIT - So are all the FW oldMarines - and the old CSM range.

Slight caveat: pre 6th ed kits had the pegs for lining up the torsos reversed. Not a huge deal, still mostly compatible

Also, the newest Dev kit has chunkier leg armour. Doesn't really affect compatability, but if you put a regular Bolter marine in a Dev squad, there is a different enough to notice if you are looking for it.
But you REALLY have to be looking for it, so it's a rather inconsequential difference

Nice to know .... yeah I mean as long as the arms, weapon and back pack which I already assembled and magnetized for the tactical can slip over the body on to the devasatator I will be happy. But I guess knowing all this now if I don’t run tacticals in a particular game I can run a ten man dev squad instead of 5 man or whatever comes in the box. This way the entire squad doesn’t get picked off in one turn lol cause I don’t have a rhino or drop pod

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Well to clarify I glued the arms to the grav cannon and the back pack hoses to the gun so when I take it off (like to switch it with say a plasma gun for my tactical model) the back pack gun and arms all slide off like a shirt

re kitbashing & FW Chaos:
If you get your hands on the Death Guard FW torsos, you'll have to do some major carving to fit some of the arm / weapon options.

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

I am currently building and painting a sick death guard army but I don't have any forge world stuff .... I don't think I would need to modify anything yet for that army .... this all started because I just wanted some heavy weapons haha I play space marines right now so .... tired of getting punnked by stuff with a lot of wounds .... namsayin?
