Hi I'd like to get an iridescent effect like fish or mermaid scales or the sheen of pearl that can be drybrushed over other light layers.

Anyone have any experience with a technical paint that might do the trick or a mix that I can make that can achieve the same effect?

Vallejo makes metallic medium which might work with contrast paints. I have a little bottle to try someday.

I used cobalt blue and a darker blue from gsw on my tank and eldar bodies.
It come out very dark. Think it lends itself to larger curved areas. Use high gloss metallic primer.

Havent tried a dash of zenithol silver metalic on top of the base but that might be a good idea.
