What would it take to get you to field monoliths in your necron army again? They're pretty much useless as is.

Some solutions:

-Points Drop
-2+ Armor
-An Invuln
-Quantum Shielding (Probably shouldn't get this, but it's an option)
-The ability to Deep Strike at the START of the movement phase, or just the ability to deliver a unit the turn it arrives
-Better weapons (REALLY should get this)

Maybe give it something that reduces the amount of damage suffered from an attack? I vaguely remember some of our group's long-time Necron players mentioning the old version was immune to abilities that added dice for armor penetration which made it insanely hard to kill before the 5th edition revamp. I wouldn't go with full quantum shielding given its higher toughness, but maybe halve damage suffered or a fixed -x damage ability instead.

Iirc it was originally immune to multiple D6 penetration (melta style penetration), immune to armor reduction (Bright lance/Dark Lance ability), and immune to a number of effects (Shaken, stunned, etc.). It also had Deep Striking advantages and could teleport a unit the turn it arrived. It was an awesome unit.

It should at least have a 2+ save and better teleporting abities, imo.
