So, the Legacy of Dorn gives your heavy weapons +1 damage against vehicles in heavy doctrine.

The rules say, if two things happen the same time, the active player, in this case the shooter, chooses the order.

So how do we calculate the damage of heavy bolter with Legacy of Dorn against a vehicle under the effects of Ironstone?

Do we just do 1-1+1=1 ?

Or can we claim that the Ironstone will apply first, but the minimum damage is 1, and then we take our LoD bonus and push it to 2 rendering the Ironstone / Serpent Shield dysfunctional?

The weapon already has +1 before the -1 applies. The total is 1.

edit: Proof reading is a thing. LoD applies to the damage characteristic. So you are right.

Even if it applied to the result - I don't believe order of operations matter in these instances. You don't round until you get the final result.

Yeah, the question is still relevant, even if it doesn’t apply to Legacy of Dorn. It could for example come into play with new Crimson Hunters that get +1 to damage.

Iron stone faq for precedence.

Add, subtract, then multiply and divide per the core rules for modifying characteristics.

So the addition subtraction happens at the same time, not resolve a modifier then apply some other modifier.
