This book was an absolute treat, especially if you happen to be invested in the 40k lore.

The story focuses on Cawl's great work towards the salvation of humanity, and several recurring characters from the Adeptus Astartes, including the Tetrarch - Decimus Felix, who is on a mission to observe and report on Cawl's dealings.

I don't want to give anything away in the first post because of the high quality of the plot - It must be experienced first hand! This is a solid sci-fi; Ancient alien races, the secrets of the universe, the price of progress and the morality surrounding the pursuit of drastic scientific advancements - it feels more like a high quality Mass Effect story. Cawl is a highly charismatic and eccentric character, and his interaction with the more stoic servants of the Imperium can be very entertaining, especially as he injects humour and intentional suspense into conversations to tease others.

A must read for fans of 40k. It delves and sheds light into various plots within the setting and it enriches the universe and characters within it. We can discuss the book here, and the various plot points if people are happy to.

Agreed 100%. some of the details have been discussed in the other Cawl thread. (you likely missed it Ishagu as it started off being a useal "cawl's a mary sue" complaint thread) it realy does details a bit about Cawl that really fleshes him out. Guy Haley's swiftly become one of my fav GW writers.

Speaking of, I just finished Lost and the Damned, and it started slow, but once it got moving I couldn't put it down. Useally "space Marine combat" is kinda dull and half the time I find myself skimming it until the more intreasting stuff happens, but he managed to keep the pace of the siege perfectly. it was a great read.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Ahhh.. typical lol. I did see that topic, and I clicked off it immediately.

Well, there is more to the book than just Cawl, and I would be happy to discuss all aspects of it.
