[i]ok! So gw have been no help at all!

Basically I’m a salamanders player and want to use a flamer weapon on my Deimos predator tank! It is sold with magna-melta and flame storm cannon on the website! But on the data slate in the imperial armour it only gives option for an infernus cannon! Which has a profile of a flamer but hasn’t got “flame” in the name! Meaning salamanders can’t re-roll if Vulkan He’stan was near by! Or make use of the new rules coming out in the supplement. I also can’t even buy an infernus cannon as an upgrade etc from fw? So wtf?

Can someone help please is there something I’m missing?

The 30k datasheet still calls it a Flamestorm Cannon, which may be why the model description still calls it one. If this were the YMDC sub-form I'd say the FW website's description is incomplete and the "flamestorm cannon" part there represents the "infernus cannon" on the datasheet, but because you've come to Proposed Rules I'd suggest flipping the bird to the infernus cannon and just fielding a Predator with a flamestorm cannon (GW's done the pricing for us already) so you can take advantage of the Salamanders rules.

The Deimos Predators were originally 30k units, and the flamer weapon on the Infernus is called a Flamestorm Cannon in 30k. They renamed it for 40k as there's another weapon called a Flamestorm Cannon.
30k Dreadnoughts also have the option for a Flamestorm Cannon, but in 40k they're called Dreadnought Inferno Cannons...

AnomanderRake so you reckon if I just paid the points for the flame storm opponents wouldn’t kick up about it?

In the imperial armour the flame storm is only listed under the grey knights weapons list! So I reckon if I had a proper nit picky opponent then that would be another reason they say I can’t take it!

It’s just irritating because the infernus cannon is clearly a flamer! But gw rules it has to have flame in the name to be a flamer! Lol!

Again because of the name change essentially in 40k they are not flamers lol! Is that right? Officially speaking

You say "Hey, is it okay with you if I take a slightly houseruled thing?" up front ahead of time, be open and explain exactly what you're doing, and be prepared to take something else if your opponent isn't okay with homebrew content, just like everything you see in Proposed Rules.
